AVID applications due by March 29.
Remember to turn in Camp Orkila forms.
This morning we took a pre test for Spelling. Those that didn't make
100
will need to take the real test tomorrow. We all have a vocab test
tomorrow. The AVID teacher from LaVenture and some students in the
program
came to talk with us about applying for AVID. This is a top notch
program
that helps prepare kids for college by teaching good study and
organization
skills. Students who are interested have an application to fill out
and a
parent permission slip form. The forms are due by March 29, but
students
who turn in their applications early will have an advantage. The
program is
available at both LaVenture and Mount Baker. This afternoon after
fitness,
we worked some more on long division. This will take a lot of
practice.
Students are finding out that knowing your multiplication facts makes
it
much easier. For the last few minutes of the day we talked a bit
about the
difference between mass and volume. We learned that the mass can
stay the
same sometimes even if the volume changes.
