Sept. 20 Daily Log

Homework: Read at Home, Fluency, NO SPELLING, SVH Due Sept. 28, Take Home Folders and Progress Reports

Today we did a lot of building. In math we built rectangles with blocks to learn about factor pairs. In Science Mrs. Thornburgh showed us another contraption she had built. It was called a Hum Dinger. She put it in a paper bag so we couldn't see how it worked. She then gave us all the materials and more and we worked in groups to try to make our own hum dingers. We had to figure out how to pull a string and get it to buzz and then when we let go it would ding. We drew our designs and collaborated on ideas. We will work on this more tomorrow. Hint for those who might look.... levers are handy tools. Today we started work on the articles we are submitting to the Skagit Valley Herald Student Herald. The artilcles are due Sept. 28 and should be something that would be newsworthy and of interest to many readers in the Skagit Valley. We will be working on this both at home and at school.

Take Home Folders and Progress Reports went home today along with lots of informational papers. Please review with your child and sign and send back both the folder and the progress report.
