Oct. 24

Homework: Read at Home, Fluency, Spelling 1-10 5x, Social Studies projects due Friday. May present earlier if ready.

Week 8 is off to a great start. This morning we filled in our day planners and looked at the calendar on line. After reading, we made a movie for our web page about how to make a graph using Excel. Mrs. Thornburgh modeled and then Morgan made a movie. Right now Mrs. Thornburgh's model is on our web page. (takes a while to load). Morgan requested some editing on hers so we will exchange them later. In math we finished grading our pretest. We learned about diameter, circumference and pi. We worked on some problems dealing with volume. We will continue to work with these problems. After lunch we had exercise time outside with Mrs. Doyle. Today we did relays with a hopper. It was hard work and very funny. Especially when Mrs. Thornburgh had to hop across the field. She did live to tell about it. This afternoon, after a firedrill, we came in and watched a video on the human eye. We learned a lot of interesting things about how this system works and how a lot of what we "see" is actually what our brain perceives. We then took a few minutes to use our writing skills to write about what we have learned.
